Call for Papers

 

MAGS members are invited to submit abstracts for contributed sessions for the 74th Annual Meeting to take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan (April 4-­6, 2018). Colleges and  universities involved in graduate education within the Midwestern United States have often overcome challenges and strengthened efforts in support of graduate education through collaborative endeavors within and across institutions. Please consider sharing those collaborations that have made a difference for graduate education on your campuses by submitting an abstract and being part of the program. Abstracts pertaining to this theme and to other issues affecting graduate education are welcome. Topics that will be of interest to members may include: Cross-­disciplinary and inter-­disciplinary programs and degrees; Alignment of degree outcomes and workplace expectations; Partnering to drive institutional change to support graduate education; Role of Graduate Colleges in facilitating inclusion of diverse viewpoints and experiences in an age of dissent; Team-­based pedagogical strategies in doctoral and clinical professional education; Inter-­institutional and community partners, alliances and consortia and more.

If  you  are  interested  in  leading  (or  co-­leading)  a  session,  please  submit  the  following  to Susan Stapleton (susan.stapleton@wmich.edu).

  1. Description: No more than 300 words describing the proposed session
  2. Abstract: Fifty word abstract for inclusion in the program should the session be accepted
  3. Presenter Contact Information:
    • Name, affiliation, email, and telephone number of the member proposing the session1
    • Name, affiliation, email address, and telephone number of other presenter(s)2

NOTE: Priority Deadline for Submissions is Friday June 2, 2017.

Abstracts will be reviewed at the June meeting of  the  Executive  Committee, and  notifications will be sent by July 31, 2017.
